What is a master class?
In a true master class, each student performs and is coached for the benefit of both the student and the audience by our visiting instructor. Master classes are critical for a musician’s development along with everything else we do like private lessons, competitions, workshops and performances.
You don’t have to audition and perform for a master class to benefit. You just come with a pencil and wait for the light bulbs to go off. Thinking of majoring in music for college? A master class performance is a great addition to your application. Want to make All-State? Master class could give you a new perspective on an old problem in time to fix it before your audition.
We’ve had some of this country’s top saxophone artists and educators come to give Sax Pro Workshops students their secrets to becoming the best musicians possible. Past master class artists include Harvey Pittel, Stephen Page, Sarah Roberts, and Griffin Campbell.
This year, don’t miss Jeffrey Loeffert, Associate Professor of Saxophone at Oklahoma State University and member of the acclaimed h2 quartet. Find more information, apply to perform, or simply register to attend here!
